Wherever you are on your writing journey, I'll be there with you.

ABOUT ME
"Every word of every sentence maters."
When I decided to start my freelance editing business, that motto came to me within seconds. It perfectly expresses how I feel about writing. Your writing. My writing.
As my business has grown and I've done as much coaching as editing, a new motto sprang up one day:
"Wherever you are on your writing journey, I'll be there with you."
Here's what I want you to know about me. Trust is a requirement of the editor-author relationship. You must trust that I want your work to be of outstanding quality and I will perform my services in your best interests. After all, your work is a reflection of my work.

I promise to treat you and your work with courtesy and respect.
I take my profession seriously. I am a member of:
Editorial Freelancers Association
National Association of Independent Writers and Editors
In my personal life, I love to play pickleball, ride my e-bike, hike, and listen to live music of all kinds. I often dance, but, fortunately, there is no video evidence.
I am a long-time member of and volunteer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). I have served as a chapter president and am a certified classroom instructor for the NAMI program Family-to-Family. I brought those years of experience to my writing of Make a Difference with Mental Health Activism.

In October 2023, I became a Humanist Celebrant, authorized to attend to the pastoral and ceremonial needs of Humanists or those seeking secular services. See my Celebrant page on this website and my Humanist Society directory profile here.
Long ago and far away. . . after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida in Tampa, I began a career as a technical writer of software instruction manuals for telecommunications, insurance, cartography, and freight logistics companies, as well as corporate policy and procedure documentation and employee benefits handbooks. Big fun.
I have co-authored a book with Dr. Terri Lyon, Make a Difference with Mental Health Activism: No activism degree required - use your unique skills to change the world.
